Just beautiful. Marvel has dropped a gorgeous new poster as it’s first step in their marketing push for the upcoming space opera, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Displaying the titular team in epic fashion, the new poster features our galactic misfits striking awesome poses in the middle of what looks like a firefight in the middle of space. Words fail me in my attempt to articulate the amount of awesome oozing from this delectable image. A tear has appeared at the corner of my eye as I sit here typing this for you, Rocket Raccoon’s loveable mug snarling while he brandishes his clearly oversized weapon is a sight to see.
Feelings aside, this is one great poster. I liked the announcement poster but if anything is worth a “your welcome” it’s this.
Along with the poster we also got a few behind the scenes shots of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord (via Collider) and a release date for the second trailer (yay!). The pictures don’t reveal anything particularly new about the film but they do give us new looks at the soon to be iconic helmet and jacket. As for when to expect the trailer… this monday! It’s bound to be good and I can’t wait to dissect every little thing about it.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.
