As a reminder of the imminent arrival of Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts remaster, the famed studio has released a number of screens showing off some of the new HD textures and overall look of the game.
Featuring HD upgrades, as well as Final Mix versions, of both Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, the upcoming remix looks like a treat for all KH fans. I’m a massive fan of the series (I have my own Keyblade) and cannot wait to dive back in to the fantastical Disney worlds! KH II was phenomenal gameplay wise but I felt it dragged a bit in the story department. Had they changed the name or made it clear that this was a sequel to Chain of Memories I may have been caught up and had a different experience, but the game is still well worth owning for any action RPG fan, Disney fan or straight up KH fan. Birth by Sleep is great from beginning to end, offering multiple perspectives on events and chronicling the origins of Xehanort, BBS is not a game to be missed.
The only thing that could make this collection any more enticing would be the inclusion of Dream, Drop, Distance. It’s the only game in the series I have yet to play and to be able to do so on the big screen would be awesome (I do own the game, sadly not a 3DS). In any case, this collection has a ton for fans of the franchise and should keep everyone very busy until the eventual release of Kingdom Hearts III.
