The EA press conference opens up with Star Wars Battlefront. After showing a lengthy teaser trailer of all the Star Wars properties faithfully represented in HD glory and the developer’s desire to bring that world to life, we move into the press conference proper.
Now we get a longer look at Dragon Age: Inquisition, showing off beautiful vistas from the game with orchestral accompaniment. Now we have a gameplay demonstration of the active battle style with a warrior fighting a huge dragon with quick switching between different party roles on the fly. There is also an option to switch to the tactical camera to proceed through battles in a more methodical manner. After that we get a story trailer to top it all off.
Next up is a teaser for the future of the Mass Effect series from Bioware. It’s clear the game is not far along in its development, but the development team shows off a lot of beautiful concepts and expresses a desire to create an experience that is satisfying for everyone.
Some new Sims 4 is presented. The game is showing an increased emphasis on personality and emotion in each Sim. We end off on a trailer and a September 2nd release date.
EA Sports NHL 15 is shown off next, and we get a trailer complete with copious amounts of slow motion.
After that we’re looking at a very early build of a new stunt racing game from Criterion Games. With some prototype footage and concept art to accompany the developer’s commentary.
EA Sports PGA Tour gets a trailer now, with fantasy courses available now.
Madden NFL 15 is shown, with more customization and precision available for defensive options now. Release date is August 26th. A trailer is shown.
EA is now creating their own MOBA style game called Dawngate. The game is also given an in-depth storyline.
Mirror’s Edge is up next, showing off designs and faith’s model in the new game. We then get brief gameplay and a prototype showing off the fast hand to hand combat and take downs the series is known for. We also get some insight on the story, implying that the game will be a prequel.
Now we have EA Sports FIFA 15 shown, with gameplay demonstrated. A trailer is also shown.
We also get a new announcement and a short trailer for Battlefield Hardline. A 1st person open world city style spinoff of the Battlefield franchise. It appears you can swap between viewing the action from the viewpoint of the criminals or the Police force. The gameplay demonstration shows off a large scale gunfight that transforms into a chase using a variety of firearms from machine guns to rocket launchers. It also appears that the criminals’ goal is to obtain and escape with a bag of loot as the game’s objective. There are also a lot of graphically impressive graphical and particle/debris effects shown over the course of the entire demonstration. Beta launches TODAY for PC and PS4.
And with that, the conference is wrapped up!
