The Digital Event begins with a hilarious stop motion animation by Robot Chicken. After that we have a kung fu battle between Reggie and Satoru Iwata! (continue reading for more Smash Bros. Bayonetta, Zelda and all around Nintendo goodness)
They decide to settle it with Smash Bros. and Mii Fighter is revealed as a newcomer. Iwata uses a Mario NFC figure to beat Reggie. Apparently Mii Fighter will come in three varieties: Mii Fighter, Mii Swordmaster, and Mii Gunner, each with completely customizable moves to choose from. After that, The 3DS version is shown off next with a ton of content. The 3DS version is coming Oct. 3rd 2014, and the WiiU version in Holiday 2014.
Next we get an explanation for Nintendo’s new NFC figure line called “Amiibo” which will launch with Super Smash Bros. for WiiU. Figures will hold data for the characters featured on them, this data will be able to be used across other Nintendo games. Mario Kart 8 also has plans to incorporate this feature. Amiibo for Smash Bros. will feature leveling up character stats with your figure and you can even fight against them or have your and your friend’s Amiibos fight each other as well.
Yoshi’s Woolly World is shown next, with various cute and cuddly gameplay clips shown of the beautiful yarn world and Yoshi’s new yarn abilities. 2 Player co-op is revealed to be possible, and Yoshi can even eat the other player in order to complete more complicated puzzles. The developers express a desire to create a game that everyone can enjoy and have fun with.
Following that we see a trailer for Captain Toad Treasure Tracker coming for WiiU in holiday 2014. The game shows off a bunch of creative stages playing the same way that the Captain Toad stages in Super Mario 3D World played.
After that, we have a discussion about the next Zelda game, showing a desire to create a truly open world. We are shown a huge open field and are told that the player can go anywhere they see in the map. We are then shown what appears to be Link (though game director Eiji Aonuma has hinted has hinted otherwise) riding Epona away from a huge mechanical monster before jumping into the air and revealing a significantly different looking (possibly the first female?) Link as they shoot a mechanical/magical arrow into the monster. Coming 2015.
We get a trailer for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire showing off a variety of gameplay with the new graphical style introduced in Pokemon X and Y. Coming November 21st 2014.

A new IP called Splatoon is shown off. It is an online, team based 3rd person shooter in which you try to capture the most territory by painting your ink all over the field. You can also transform into a squid and swim through territory that’s your team color, but move slower in enemy ink, adding another layer of strategy. A gameplay trailer is shown with many different weapons available and strategies exhibited. Coming in 2015.
To close the conference we get confirmation of a new smash bros. character with an anime trailer. The new character is the Goddess Palutena from Kid Icarus Uprising! Her moveset appears to show plenty of variety. We also get a hint that Dark Pit may join the roster as well!
But wait! We’re left with a teaser about Shigeru Miyamoto’s new IP to be shown off on the Nintendo Treehouse stream.
That’s it for the press conferences!
We’re switching over to the Treehouse stream now, where we have confirmation of two new 3DS titles, Fantasy Life, a simulation game, and Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton coming August 29th 2014.
