According to The Wrap, the latest casting addition to the upcoming Supergirl adaptation is none other than singer extraordinaire (another one), Jeremy Jordan. Click the link for more details!
Joining an already packed cast is the singer savant Jeremy Jordan (this time in a non-musical role). According to the report, Jordan will be playing Winslow Schott, also known as the Toyman to fans of the source material. This version of the villain will begin his journey as a sympathetic character, a friend to Kara working at CatCo. The Flash has taken a similar approach to some of it’s villains (Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin/Killer Frost).
The released description is as follows,
Winslow “Winn” Schott, a tech genius and superstar IT whiz who works alongside Kara (“Glee’s” Melissa Benoist) at Cat Grant’s (Calista Flockhart) company, CatCo.
The Wrap go on to say that thus far he is only signed on for the pilot but if the series is picked up (which it will be) he has the potential to return (which he will).
Jeremy Jordan is best known for his work on projects like Newsies, The Last Five Years and Rock Of Ages. So seeing him in something other than a musical is a bit of an anomaly. He does have some decent acting chop though and should feel right at home with the rest of the stellar cast. Especially since Supergirl herself has a Glee-ful history (so punny).
Supergirl will also star Melissa Benoist as Kara, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Chyler Leigh as Kara’s foster sister Alex, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, with helen Slater and Dean Cain in mystery roles.
