Ever since the Doomsday mishap, the marketing behind Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been stellar. This latest and final trailer showcases a a ton of new action footage, the lighter side of the film and a line or two from Wonder Woman herself! Take a look!
Now THAT is a trailer! Epic action, a dash of witty banter and complete focus on the battle of the titans; Batman versus Superman! With the film coming out in just over a month, Warner Brothers Studios is going all in on their marketing campaign. Reminding fans what Batman V Superman is all about, the final trailer and the IMAX poster (below) heavily feature DC’s most popular characters locked in combat.
The dialogue between Alfred and Bruce gives us a general idea of how levity will be introduced throughout the proceedings. We won’t be getting any hamfisted, over the top gags of some other superhero films (Read – Thor: The Dark World), instead the movie will take a much more subtle approach. While it probably won’t go down as the funniest film WB has put out, we can rest assured the film won’t be all dark and brooding (which, at a certain point was a legit concern).
It’s also cool to see Alfred see some action himself. Most depictions of Batman’s friend and butler typically have him playing a more passive role, relegated to passing on words of wisdom and tending to Batman’s wounds. Here, Alfred is piloting (via remote control, he is an older fellow after all) the Batwing and assisting our Dark Knight in his vigilante endeavors.
We also hear Wonder Woman talk for the very first time. And after hearing her voice it makes me wonder why they hid her dialogue for so long. She seems to have some sort of relationship with Bruce Wayne, whether romantic, or at least heading there, it will be a unique way of introducing the Amazonian princess.
The trailer also does a fantastic job of conveying the style of action we’ll be getting throughout. Zack Snyder has always been a fan of the slo-mo fight scene, so it isn’t all that surprising to see it appear here. Whether it be Wonder Woman leaping into the fray (battle cry and all), Batman tearing through bands of thugs or Superman bewildered at NOT hitting something and watching it fly across the planet, there is a lot of amazing stuff here.
