Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe as seen in Now You See Me 2 (colloquially known as Now You Don’t)
Bigger tricks and Morgan Freeman do not a good trailer make… though that stunt with the rain and the magical tube to China was pretty interesting. Take a look at the international trailer for Now You See Me 2!
Replacing the lovely Isla Fisher with the also lovely Lizzy Caplan was an interesting decision, one that will probably have little to no effect on whether or not Now You See Me 2 is any good, but interesting nonetheless. Featuring all of the major players from the original (sans the aforementioned Fisher) and bringing in Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe (presumably to teach the kids some REAL magic), Now You See Me 2 looks to play the same game the first film did, only on a much larger scale. The tricks are more complex, the locations more exotic and Morgan Freeman is in jail.
The first Now You See Me was decent fun, though a bit conventional (I called the identity of the mystery man the moment I saw him (I could spot that Ruffalo hunch from a mile away)) so the thought of a sequel had never crossed my mind. That being said, the premise holds the potential for something truly unique, I just don’t think the film they made fits that bill. Much like the Ben-Hur trailer from earlier today, the trailer isn’t terrible, it just fails to leave an impression. And in a world with remarkable trailers hitting every other day, that’s not a good sign.
Also like the Ben-Hur trailer from earlier today, alongside the Now You See Me 2 spot comes a number of promotional posters. Check them out below:
Now You See Me 2 hits theatres June 10th 2016.
