After having seen the first trailer for Suicide Squad, I’m not entirely sure how anyone could consider it humorless. But if you were still harboring any doubts, the latest trailer offering is even funnier. Check it out!
With reshoots currently underway over at the Suicide Squad camp and the underwhelming performance of Batman V Superman, many a fan harbored hesitation for future DC offerings. Putting some of the blame for Dawn of Justice‘s lacklustre box office on its “humorlessness”, rumors began to swirl that Suicide Squad, and by association the rest of the DCCU, suffered from a similar deficit. Those rumors have largely been put to rest (by director David Ayer and Captain Boomerang actor Jai Courtney) but just in case you still felt iffy about things, this trailer should put you at ease.
Showcasing all of the squad’s abilities at work, as well as their distinctive personalities, Suicide Squad looks to be firing on all cylinders. The overall plot of the film remains as vague as ever, offering mainly glimpses of action and humor over potential spoilers. Though, we do get a few new shots of Ben Affleck in what looks like a much slimmer version of his costume (that could just be me).
I don’t get much of a villain vibe from any of these characters, though I’m sure the dark ,gritty nature said to pervade all of DC’s film will rear it’s head at one point or another.
In any case, the trailer is fantastic and any naysayers piggybacking off of the bashing of BvS can keep to themselves. In addition to the epic trailer, a number of HD screens have hit the web giving fans and even better look at the cast. Featuring new shots of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), The Joker (Jared Leto) and Batman (Ben Affleck), the screens are ready for your perusal and overanalysis!
