The penultimate episode of SHIELD’s inaugural season got off to a rocky start but ultimately provided an insightful episode. Offering a deep dive into Ward (Brett Dalton) and Garrett’s (Bill Paxton) past as well as shedding light on Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) mysterious lineage, Ragtag ended up becoming one of, if not the most revealing episode of the series thus far. While the jokey nature of the episode did bar it from greatness Ragtag was a solid installment of the young Marvel show. —>
Amy Acker! Episode 19 of Agents of SHIELD marks the introduction of long time mystery woman, Coulson’s cellist! Originally mentioned in passing in The Avengers and a constant background presence this season when it came to Coulson, we finally get our first look. Played by the always-lovely Amy Acker, the first appearance of the cellist is definitely one to remember. Agents of SHIELD has become must watch TV, especially for those following the MCU. Continue Reading
This week AoS has once again delivered a top-notch companion to the MCU at large. Opting for a more personal challenge, Providence drops some of the bombast of the past few episodes in an attempt to deliver more character drama and build on the distrust swirling around the wreckage that is SHIELD. Agents of SHIELD continues its hot streak heading into the final episodes while revealing a few new details surrounding the mystery that is Coulson’s resurrection.
And the hits just keep on coming. Coming off of its final break of the season (thank god) just in time for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, AoS had the pressure on to bring a solid tie in episode. Boy did they deliver. While relatively light on the overall storyline for the most part, “End of the Beginning” does a fantastic job displaying the power of Deathlok (poor Mike) and making sure we don’t trust anybody going in to the movie. With a bevy of returning agents and a moment many fans have been waiting for finally coming to fruition, “End of the Beginning” was a great return for the fledgling series and a sign that even better things are to come. —>
