The Amazing Spiderman 2 hit theatres this past week to slightly less fan fare than was expected. Making 92 million dollars at the box office opening weekend is typically a huge haul, but if your Spiderman those numbers are a little tepid. In any case, TASM2 has more than a few hints at the series’ future plans and with Sony confirming a Sinister Six and Venom spin-off the “Spideyverse” seems to be going full speed ahead. I took it upon myself to come up with a few other potential spin-offs that would add some much needed diversity to the world and would open up some new genre territory for Sony to explore. —>

Marc Webb’s second outing behind Sony’s crown jewel definitely lives up to the name. The Amazing Spiderman 2 was just that, amazing. While there were some notable issues ASM proves to be a thoroughly entertaining, emotional, silly, adept world building film all at the same time. Not one to shy away from it’s quirky comic book roots, The Amazing Spiderman 2 does a tremendous job of cementing Spidey as one of the premier superhero franchises on the market and shows that there is plenty of life left in Spiderman’s tank.
The first official screening of The Amazing Spiderman 2 has just finished and press from all over the inter webs have taken to twitter to give their gut reactions. For the most part they seem to have liked the sequel but there are a few negative nancy’s thrown in just to balance things out. I for one tend to side with the optimists. The only negatives I kept hearing about the first Marc Webb Spiderman flick were about the rehashed origin and the ugly Lizard, these 2 things have no bearing on whether or not a film is “good” or not. Check out below for an assortment of reactions and remember to not let it influence your decision to go see it too much. Nobodies opinion should matter more than your own! —>
