Alongside today’s release of the new Guardians of the Galaxy poster and the reveal date for the second trailer (Monday, 19th) we have also received some new information regarding the sure fire smash, Avengers: Age of Ultron! Coming by the way of Joblo.com, we have gathered some details on key characters and events of the new film. Take this all with a grain of salt as nothing has been officially confirmed but this does come from an established and reliable source. Be warned, tread lightly for there be mild spoilers ahead;
According to Joblo.com there will be a total of 3 iterations of Ultron in the film, with at least one being performed via mo-cap by James Spader. They also go on to confirm the use of vibranium, which adds credence to a Wakanda or Black Panther cameo but neither of those are confirmed through their source. It will be cool seeing Ultron evolve over the course of the movie and to see how he obtains his upgrades.
In regards to the Avengers themselves, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) will indeed be funding the team. This was implied during a later episode of SHIELD and was hinted at in the set photos that have been leaking since shooting began. With Stark’s funding comes new toys, all of the team members will be sporting the iconic ‘A’ somewhere on their uniform (as displayed by Cap (Chris Evans) in his new duds). Joblo goes on to mention that the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will be getting special Avengers stretchy pants and that Black Widow (Scarlett Johanson) will be equipped with dual shock batons. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) will be sporting his new jacket and the ‘Iron Legion’ (they won’t be called that) will make an appearance. In the wake of SHIELD’s disbandment Tony Stark creates an army of Ironman drones to police the globe. This is more than likely where Ultron comes from. Finally, while still talking about the team, War Machine and Falcon are expected to make cameo appearances but not feature in any major capacity. This will go along way in easing fans minds about what the supporting cast are up to during these big battles.
There is also mention of a new quinjet and that the Avengers as a team are very public. They will not be operating undercover or in secret. They are in the open and are not hiding anything about their actions.
On the new team member front, it is said that Paul Bettany as the Vision will be decked out in his iconic green and yellow, albeit with the usual MCU updates. I’m just happy for his inclusion at all, he is one of my favourite heroes in the books and to see him on screen will be nothing short of awful (as in full of awe). Joblo does go on to mention that he will only show up in the final act of the film, which is a little disappointing but is to be expected. With a cast full of important characters Joss Whedon has to find some way of managing all of them.
The final section of the Joblo article is spent talking about some of the battles expected to occur during the beginning of the film. According to their sources the opening battle will see the Avengers taking on Baron Strucker (Thomas Kreitschman) and ‘The Twins’ in a forested area. No details are given about the sequence in specific, just who is featured.
And that’s all folks! Nothing that will ruin the movie for anybody and just enough new info to ramp up the excitement factor.
What do you guys think about all of this? I think it’s great and cannot wait to see the full film in theatres.
